These are the season and career records and awards of major league baseball, purged of steroid-tainted statistics. On the "Batters" and "Pitchers" sheets, you will find listed the steroid and HGH users and their probable seasons of performance-enhancing, along with their adjusted career statistics.

On the "Season Leaders" pages, the season leaders in statistical categories affected by steroid use are listed, after removing performance-enhanced statistics. Where a change has been made, the text is highlighted in blue. The same is done for season awards on the "Awards" page, where awards are given to the next eligible runner-up.

Finally, the major league records in single-season or career major statistical categories are corrected, wherever the top 20 has been affected by steroid use. No highlighting or asterisks are included here, as these are the authentic, unadulterated records of major league baseball, purged of steroid-inflated numbers.

All statistics are current through the end of the 2009 season. Readers may use the stat lines on the "Batters" and "Pitchers" pages as a basis for producing their own record lists and maintaining them in future seasons. Simply delete the cumulative stats for the seasons listed from the career totals of any active players named.
